Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and compliance? Do you want to make a real difference in recycling and resource recovery? We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to lead compliance activities at our Recycling Sites!

About the Role:

As the Compliance Officer, you'll play a crucial role in the continuous improvement and maintenance of systems and processes that meet legal, customer, and accreditation standards. You'll be responsible for driving initiatives and enacting operational strategies to manage risk across our Buderim and Caloundra RRC sites, focusing on Environmental and Quality Assurance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Workplace Health and Safety team to manage WH&S risks.
  • Provide expert advice on quality assurance, operational risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with support functions to ensure efficient and effective systems are maintained.
  • Analyse existing business processes to support the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations.
  • Conduct independent and transparent Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality audits and compliance assessments.

About You:

  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality assurance standards, and process improvement techniques.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to relay clear and concise information.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with quality standards and regulations, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, Environmental Protection Act 1994, and Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011.
  • Education: A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of industry experience, preferably within the Resource Recovery or Environmental Compliance sector.
