The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is one of Sydney's largest frontline charities and has been operating for 35 years. Our mission is to provide assistance to address the cause and effect of homelessness and poverty, faced by marginalised individuals. We succeed in achieving this through a combination of caring services like food provision, social welfare and education support.
We are seeking a Domestic Violence Specialist Worker (‘DV Specialist’) for our Ashfield hub service, who is skilled in providing specialist support and collaborative case management to women and their child(ren) who are survivors of domestic violence.
The role is currently 12-months fixed term with the possibility of permanency.
The role will act as the first point of contact for people seeking urgent access to specialist Domestic and Family Violence Supports and services, including crisis and transitional accommodation, financial and material aid, undertaking risk assessments, safety planning and providing assistance completing Domestic Violence Protection Order applications.
While the role is primarily crisis/safety planning, a case management/care coordination aspect will involve assisting clients in engaging with other services (e.g., refuges, counselling, court support) and participating in outreach and care coordination with other professionals offsite (vehicle access provided). The DV Specialist may also be required to attend relevant consortium partnership meetings and professional discipline meetings related to client service provision.
If you have experience in Domestic Violence Support and are looking to make an impact in the community, then please click "Apply Now" and send through your resume.
Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be female so applications from female candidates are encouraged. This job is open to applicants from all backgrounds.
Bill Crews Charitable Trust and the Exodus Foundation are separate but co-operating entities. Both collaborate to meet the services and programs delivered under the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation brand name.
All Bill Crews Foundation employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to comply with relevant booster vaccinations approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status will be required prior to commencing this role.
Applicants must hold work rights for Australia, and the successful candidate will be required to complete a Working With Children Check and Police Check as part of their employment.
Applications for this role will take you to the employer’s site.
