This business enables us to provide a training pathway for people with disabilities to prepare for employment at their own pace and undertake award wage employment before transitioning to open employment.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, creative, patient and energetic person to join our team!

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Trainer (Connect) is responsible for supporting NDIS participants with their day-to-day activities, consisting of training and work experience, to meet and exceed their employment goals. Working in collaboration with the Employment Pathways team, the Senior Trainer is responsible for preparing and finding NDIS participants open employment opportunities in line with their goals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work on an individual basis with NDIS Participants to develop skills to ensure a pathway into open employment is smooth as they transition to employment beyond Jigsaw.
  • Provide guidance of best practice, train and mentor other staff on essential open employment skills.
  • Complete administration and reporting activities – daily notes, incident reports, NDIS Particiaptns progression tracking.
  • Provide communication to NDIS participants, allied health professionals, carers, and/or families

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years previous experience in a position with transferable skills to the position and/or working with people with disability
  • Experience training employers in inclusive work practices
  • This role would be suitable for someone who has previous experience in outplacement or recruitment

REQUIRED TO:

  • Have the right to work in Australia
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Workers screening check
  • Possess a or be willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR (HLTAID009) Certificate
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check
