THE OPPORTUNITY

The Family Safety Contact Worker (FSCW) supports victim-survivors, who are the partners/ex-partners/family members of the men attending the Men’s Behaviour Change Program due to perpetrating Family Violence. The role works with the women to assess risk, complete safety plans, and requires communication throughout the man’s MBCP service to ensure the safety of the women and children. The Family Safety Contact Worker’s role also involves supporting women to address the impact of family violence through referrals into Family Violence counselling or other appropriate serves.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (Degree minimum level) in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Family Therapy or related field.
  • Demonstrated Family Violence knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in working with victim-survivors of Family Violence.
  • An understanding of the complexities of Family Violence.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and ongoing safety plans.
  • Skill and competency in providing Family Violence specific Counselling to victim-survivors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
