Fundraising & Corporate Partnerships Specialist - Flexible Location

Forever Wild

Forever Wild (FW) is truly unique. Co-designing our Shared Earth Landscapes with communities, our core mission is to protect the Earth’s last great wildernesses for societal well-being, for biological diversity and its evolutionary potential, and for our cultural record and economic values. Our work focuses on the interlinked environmental and human values – ecology, cultural heritage and shared histories, and sustainable food and economic development.

  • Potential to work from home and to visit incredible locations
  • Help protect the planet and First Nations cultures as a key member of the team
  • Scope to develop this role, your team and salary

FW has two major finance streams; impact investment and philanthropy. This role will lead the major gifts and corporate philanthropy program. You will join a friendly, passionate and dedicated team with an organisation that will provide all the tools and support you require to be successful in this role. FW views the well-being of our staff as a core focus and goes to great lengths to ensure communication and collaboration are at the highest level, enabling us to work together effectively and achieve the mission.

Working closely with the CEO and the Digital Content Creator, you will lead the development of FW’s major gifts and corporate philanthropic program. At times you will engage directly with on-ground partners, including First Nations people, to truly understand their needs. There will be a lesser aspect of foundation grants. Using the considerable groundwork completed so far, you will develop and execute a successful communication and marketing strategy to raise Forever Wild’s profile and ultimately generate revenue via a pipeline of major gifts, grants, and carefully selected corporate partners.

Your key objectives in this role are:

  • Develop and implement a communication & marketing strategy with compelling content to engage target audiences in the organisation’s mission
  • Implement and oversee a successful fundraising strategy to focus on major gifts and bequests, and develop and manage a targeted portfolio of prospects
  • The development of targeted corporate partnerships
  • Work closely with the CEO to create persuasive proposals for occasional major grants
  • Work effectively to a budget
  • Assume a leading role in the growth of a major gifts and corporate partnership team over the next 5 years

There will be opportunities in this role to visit our landscapes and engage directly with the people, wildlife and sustainable enterprises as well as occasional visits to Head Office in Far North Queensland.

It is anticipated that this role will develop to full-time / job share, and will grow a small team to lead.

There is scope to work from home, and we may work with you to develop an office space in Melbourne as required and as the team grows.
