Your Impact

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will report directly to the HR Manager and work collaboratively with the wider HR team to support a positive and productive workforce culture, successfully managing the full HR life cycle.

The HR team is responsible for providing best practice advice and support to the organisation in relation to employee engagement and retention, performance development, performance management, wellbeing, health and safety as well as managing staff records, all related policies and procedures and relevant reporting.

The Role

The HR Business Partner role provides key support and expert advice to managers and staff in all HR matters while developing collaborative partnerships with managers to understand their operational needs.

The position also plays a key role in occupational health and safety, contributes to the development of HR strategy, and to the development and implementation of the HR operational plan to ensure strategic goals are met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with line managers to support all employment aspects across the employee lifecycle.
  • Coach and guide staff and line managers in the correct and consistent interpretation and application of the Enterprise Agreement and HR policies and procedures.
  • Engage in investigation and resolution of complex workplace grievances, performance management issues, mediation and dispute resolution, and other industrial relations matters.
  • Support the HR Manager in leading and managing the HR team to achieve their individual potential and collective goals in delivering operational priorities.
  • Take a lead role in proactive workplace safety initiatives and occupational health and safety management.
  • Develop and analyse key HR metrics to identify trends and use to for strategic and operational decision making.

What you'll need to successfully apply

To be successful, you will need to positively respond to the below selection criteria:

  • Formal qualifications in Human Resources or a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience as HR practitioner effectively supporting managers and staff across the breadth of all HR functions.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of industrial instruments, applicable legislation including OHS and return to work obligations.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of HR strategy, policies & procedures, project planning and coordination.
  • Advanced skills in HR data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, great with time management and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit environment and working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities is highly desirable.
