About the role

The Head of Mentoring & Development will be responsible for the implementation of the Franklin Women Mentoring Program within the health and medical research ecosystem in NSW and ACT, as well its possible future expansion. You will also be involved in the delivery of other learning and development activities in response to the needs of the Franklin Women community and the strategic direction and growth of the organisation.

Calling upon your strong understanding and/or experience within the sector, you will build relationships with diverse stakeholders to bring our Mentoring Program and related initiatives to life. This will be enabled by your excellent communication skills, your ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently and your drive to have a positive impact on the Australian health and medical research ecosystem & the people who contribute to it.

You will:

  • Engage and liaise with organisations who take part in the Franklin Women Mentoring Program to support their participation, as well as lead the recruitment of new organisations who would benefit from taking part.
  • Build relationships with mentees and mentors within each Mentoring Program cohort to understand their unique needs and experiences.
  • Work closely with external service providers who design and/or facilitate components of Franklin Women development initiatives.
  • Coordinate program events and workshops, including but not limited to guest registration, catering, venue and budgets.
  • Represent Franklin Women and our development activities at internal and external events including but not limited to welcome addresses, presentations and panels.
  • Maintain and engage our Mentoring Program Alumni, including the quarterly newsletters, social media groups and annual events.
  • Lead the continual improvement of our current development offerings.
  • Work collaboratively with others in the team to facilitate the achievement of organisational goals and strategic direction of Franklin Women.

This role is permanent part-time role (3-days per week) initially for 12-month period with an expectation of extension. There is potential for the role to grow to 4 days per week as the business grows.

This is ideally a Sydney-based role however candidates from Canberra will also be considered. The role can be delivered flexibly based on the successful candidates’ preferences and Franklin Women’s priorities and needs each week. Attending in person events outside normal business hours is an essential requirement of the role.  Some interstate travel will occasionally be required.
