ROLE

Good Cycles is entering a period of transformational change as we amplify our social impact through organisational growth and expansion of employment pathways for young people, this includes recently commencing operations in southern Queensland (Coorparoo and Molendinar) through our partnership with Lime. This role presents an exciting opportunity to be a part of establishing Good Cycles and will require the ability to develop strong networks with youth and community support organisations, corporate partners and other social enterprises.

The Team Leader will be responsible for managing day-to-day operational requirements of the Youth Employment Program and overseeing the delivery of high quality, accessible support to employees in our Queensland operations. Initially they will take an active lead in provision of Coaching support (with a prescribed caseload), however this will reduce as the team size and supervisory responsibilities of the role grow.

Working closely with the Head of Impact Programs, the Team Leader will also play an active role in the development/review of policies and procedures including establishing operational procedures within the program area.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated (preferred minimum 5 years) professional experience supporting young people in a community setting and relevant tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, and / or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience including the ability to supervise and support staff dealing with complex and evolving situations, providing alternative perspectives and role-model best practice
  • Strong understanding of the of contemporary labour market and the experience of young jobseekers including those from traditionally marginalised and under-represented groups in the workforce,
  • Understanding of, and capacity to apply theories and frameworks of strength-based and trauma-informed practice
  • Well-developed networking skills across a range of stakeholders
  • Strong written communication skills including competency in using computer software to write reports that are comprehensive and analytical
  • Ability to be self-directed and work autonomously and demonstrate exceptional organisational skills
