Pathways to Safety Coordinator (Family Violence)

We are seeking a Pathways to Safety Coordinator (Family Violence) within our Safer Placer and Recovery team! The salary for this role is a SCHADS Level 6.1 ($102,546.08 + super + $15,990 salary packaging) pro rata.

We are seeking a Pathways to Safety Coordinator to join our Safer Places and Recovery team on a 12-month fixed term (0.8) part-time basis.

As the Pathways to Safety Coordinator, you will contribute to project deliverables of the ‘Pathways to Safety Secondary Consultation Project’ for General Practices, delivered by the Northwestern Melbourne Primary Health Network in partnership with GenWest and Berry Street. This role focuses on building capabilities and increased engagement between local General Practices and family violence services primarily through secondary consultation provision and capability building.

Hours of employment are spread across Monday-Friday, 5 days per week from 10am-4.36pm, with opportunities for negotiation in line with the project commitments.

Reporting to the Integrated Family Violence Services – Project Lead, the responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing direct family violence secondary consultations with General Practices.
  • Attending and contributing a specialist family violence lens and post training support as part of the training and communities of practice sessions held for General Practices.
  • Collecting and submitting relevant de-identified data to NWMPHN and SAX institute and participate in program evaluations as required.
  • Engaging with local General Practices across the Western Metropolitan Region to promote the project outcomes and building greater collaboration with specialist family violence services.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of GenWest’s Secondary Consultation and Information Sharing Requests provision to meet broader sector needs and compliance requirements.
  • Participating as a sitting member of the Western Integrated Family Violence Committee secondary consultation advisory group.

selection criteria

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialist family violence response working with victim survivors at a comprehensive level.
  • In depth understanding and application in practice of the MARAM (Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management) Framework, Information Sharing Scheme Ministerial Guidelines, alongside relevant frameworks and legislations.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work across and integrate multiple project outcomes.

Desired qualities also include:

  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to project planning, meeting deadlines, reporting and evaluation to successfully achieve outcomes.
  • Skills in engaging and enhancing staff capacity though learning and development.
  • Knowledge of Specialist Homelessness Information Platform (SHIP).

Please note: In line with the NWMPHN project commitments, the spread of working hours can be flexible. The NWMPHN project will commence 28th June 2024.
