POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Child Safety:

• Draft and review policy and procedures and other governance relating documents.
• Develop, in collaboration with stakeholders, inclusive child safe resources for both youth and adults
• Identifying safeguarding risks and opportunities and make recommendations for continuous improvement
• Support National Redress Scheme administration and reporting
• Manage organisational safeguarding requirements, reports and processes both internal and external
• Engage with external stakeholders across sector and community, building networks and fostering partnerships.

Risk Management, Governance and Compliance:

• Identifying safeguarding risks and opportunities and make recommendations for continuous improvement
• Monitor and manage digital safe spaces compliance
• Be fully conversant in Privacy and Data Protection laws of Australia and adapt Girl Guides Australia policies and procedures accordingly.
• General risk and safety administration

Girl Guides Australia (GGA) is the national office for Girl Guiding in Australia. A youth organisation which provides girl-led programs to support the building of resilience, new skills, teamwork, and friendships. The national team is small, but passionate. in delivering outcomes for Girl Guiding in Australia. GGA is currently in its fourth year of implementing a 5-year strategy.

The GGA office is in the Hub Hyde Park a certified BCorp business. The office is located moments from Hyde Park and Museum Station as well as bus routes on Oxford Street. A shared workspace that offers the staff access to member perks such as discounts across a range of services and products. There is a small in-house gym and end of trip amenities. The Hub is also a dog friendly building. GGA offers a hybrid way of working and all staff have access to an EAP.

Requirements for Applications

Applicants must be able to work in Australia and the shortlisted applicant must provide a valid Working with Children Check, a National Police Check and two references prior to offer of employment.
