THE POSITION

The Victorian Government funds Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs) to deliver the School to Work program.

As program providers, LLENs work with local employers, industry partners and schools to improve students’ access to work-based learning opportunities.

This dynamic position may suit a new graduate or someone with educational/ community/ youth sector experience. The incumbent is required to develop industry placements that recognise the needs of senior secondary students within the geographical boundaries of Gateway LLEN.

The role sits within the broader School to Work team and actively engages with our schools, community and industry partners to support workplace learning and development of students undertaking both VET and VCE VM programs.

The position is full time (0.8 EFT neg.) and is based at the Gateway LLEN office in Box Hill. The role is operational and hands on, requiring a high level of organisation and attention to detail.

DUTIES - SEE PD ATTACHED

  • Coordinate SWL and Work Experience opportunities with local schools, students and employers
  • Support the School to Work team to deliver broader initiatives where required

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA - SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A tertiary qualification in business, education, youth, community development, career development or related discipline or experience in a transferrable role.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team with a positive outlook and strong motivation and work ethics
  • Ability to plan, schedule and lead the development of initiatives
  • A desire to develop partnerships involving a diverse range of stakeholders from business, schools, education and community partners
  • Ability to inspire and influence people to become involved in our initiatives
  • Computer skills - word, excel, PowerPoint, email, databases and Zoom/ Teams
  • A Working with Children Check and Victorian Police Check are required
  • Current Victorian driver’s license and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
