Our three-year strategy outlines the world we want to see and our role advancing in it. It also speaks to the positive impact we will deliver to support women, girls and families to be safe, secure, strong and connected. We are committed to tackling the issues of our time which adversely affect them. We work to advance equity and social justice and support our communities to thrive.
We seek to increase economic participation and wellbeing, to build resilience, improve safety and bring about system change. We offer microfinance programs and products, financial counselling and coaching, family violence support, parenting programs and playgroups, education programs and community houses. These services are complemented by research and advocacy to address the underlying structural causes of injustice, exclusion, and inequality.
The Personal Safety Initiative (PSI) aims to assist victim survivors leaving family violence to remain in their homes with additional safety measures. This is a statewide initiative that enables consistent access to safety and security responses for victim survivors across Victoria. PSI forms a key part of the Victorian Government’s response to and focus on family violence. The PSI coordinator will provide high-quality consultation to case managers considering a PSI response for their clients. This role will review safety audits and provide recommendations for safety measures based on the risk assessment and risk management plan in place for the victim survivor.
The minimum mandatory qualifications requirements are in place in Victoria and have been since the 1st of July 2021. These are available on https://www.vic.gov.au/mandatory-minimum-qualifications-specialist-family-violence-practitioners.
