This is a senior position within the overall Human Resources team and is part of an energetic Leadership team, reporting through to the General Manager of Human Resources. The leader is responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of HR including systems and operations, talent development and acquisition, employee lifecycle, employee experience, people management and reporting.

The incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of the Human Resources Operations Strategy. This comprehensive strategy aims to mitigate risk, foster strategic business growth, allow the fluid transfer of data/information between areas/ systems, and enable the broader GSANZ business to support key stakeholders.

With a strong focus on talent acquisition and development, the Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring Good Shepherd employee’s (in conjunction with the Senior Leadership team) progress through an engaging and information rich onboarding process, with access to learning that advances their skills, knowledge and experience at Good Shepherd. Operationalise the HR strategy across multiple pillars including Leadership Capability, Training & Development, Talent, Retention, Workforce Planning (Data and Dashboards) and HR Policies & Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HR projects that align with the organisation's continuous improvement goals and support the development of HR systems.
  • Manage relationships with external partners and vendors, negotiating favourable terms (e.g. LinkedIn, Seek, recruitment agencies, HR systems), and assess vendor performance against established metrics.
  • Develop and execute a seamless induction and onboarding process, ensuring an outstanding experience for candidates and GSANZ employees.
  • Oversee the creation of a comprehensive learning strategy to address the needs of GSANZ’s professional staff.
  • Support the GMHR in managing HR cyclical activities, including exit interviews, onboarding and recruitment management.
  • Create and deliver HR performance, employee experience, and statistical reports to the executive team and leaders.
  • Conduct market research to identify new sourcing partners and stay informed on emerging talent acquisition trends and technologies.
  • Analyse and report on talent acquisition trends, providing data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of the UKG-HR information system (HRIS, ATS, etc.) ensuring training and support for all users.

About You

  • Proven experience leading HR Operations, with a focus on process improvement and change management.
  • Expertise in implementation and development of HR systems management, talent acquisition, and employment contract administration.
  • Ability to innovate and manage change in complex organisational environments.
  • Strong drive to positively influence culture and inspire others to reach their potential.
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and other relevant HR tools and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement talent acquisition strategies, build relationships with external partners, and contribute to strategic workforce planning using data-driven insights.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying informed about industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement in HR.
