Gladstone Women’s Health Centre is a highly respected, not-for-profit charity organisation, overseen by a management committee comprising women with diverse skills, qualifications, and dedication to lead the organisation’s direction and success over time.

Established in 1992, the organisation has remained committed to its founding goals of empowering and improving the overall health and wellbeing of women of the Gladstone Region, while growing to be the leading support organisation for women; especially those who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing domestic and family violence, and sexual abuse.

THE ROLE

The Team Leader holds a pivotal role in driving excellence and service delivery for our Counsellors, required to navigate complex situations with finesse, along with strong administrative and organisational skills. Providing leadership, case management, supervision, reporting, and support on daily operations to a team of specialist case managers (counsellors) in line with the Queensland government service standards for delivery of domestic, family and sexual violence support services. Establishing and continuing partnerships with various agencies to ensure our clients have seamless access to vital resources and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspire, motivate and align a dedicated team of specialist staff in delivering person-centered, trauma-informed case management to clients in crisis or at high-risk and provide support, advocacy, referrals and resources to women and children who are experiencing or who have experienced domestic, family or sexual violence or require general well-being supports.
  • Provide leadership and management including coaching, mentoring, education, and supervision to staff to ensure high quality gender informed and strengths based case management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, polices, procedures and key clinical models and frameworks, including processes associated with supporting high-risk clients, risk assessments and intervention processes.
  • Champion a culture of self-care, resilience and support to ensure staff are aware of support initiatives (learning, supervision and self care practices etc).
  • Ensure the coverage of service delivery including intake, case management and High-Risk during periods of high demand and staff planned and unplanned leave.
  • Actively demonstrate a ‘leader as coach’ mindset, building capacity and capability within the team.
  • Case management where required to meet team goals.
  • Understand organisational performance requirements and ensure staff can achieve their best to deliver quality client outcomes and meet operational requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvements across our workforce.
  • Provide support and supervision to staff embedded externally or providing outreach.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development of self and others.
  • Timely and accurate data reporting.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Degree or above qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy or similar discipline.
  • Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience post qualification.
  • Demonstrated aptitude toward leadership and a commitment and skills to provide individual, peer and group supervision, debriefing and self-care practices.
  • Thorough understanding of case management practice informed by a gender analysis or violence against women and children, the impact of trauma, human rights, and feminist theory.
  • High level ability to provide advice and direction for staff on complex matters including, crisis intervention, comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning, timely and considered decision making and planning to respond to client’s needs ion a trauma informed manner.
  • Practice within an evidence-based framework.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and foster harmonious and collaborative relationships internally and with external stakeholders.
  • Resilience and aptitude in working with complex and important matters, sound judgement and ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
