About the role

This exciting and rewarding position:

  • Provides vocational assistance to young people facing barriers to work and study
  • Uses strengths-based approaches to help young people reach their work and study goals
  • Works directly with a caseload of young people providing appointments via web chat, phone, email and video chat, delivering personalised work and study sessions based around a young person's goals and where they are on their work/study journey
  • Works within a small and collaborative team alongside mental health clinicians who work closely with Specialists to provide integrated clinical care
  • Delivers vocational interventions aimed at minimising the impact of mental health challenges on a young person's engagement with work and study, building resilience and enabling recovery
  • Collaborates with educational institutions, employment agencies and employers to assist young people with identifying opportunities
  • Works closely with referral partners, including headspace centres, to promote and drive service referrals and undertake care collaboration to ensure service participants receive the best support possible

Who we're looking for

headspace is seeking someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Highly motivated and determined with experience working with young people
  • Able to look outside the square to create innovative ways to engage young people to ensure they reach their work/study goals
  • Experience in providing work, study and career support to young people
  • A comprehensive understanding of the employment landscape, coupled with an ability to actively engage young people with complex needs
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Sustain collaborative partnerships with a range of stakeholders within the employment and education service system

To be eligible for this position you must

  • Have the right to live and work in Australia
  • Have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent, and/or pass all of the WWCC(s) required for this role (please note that for this role, headspace requires WWCCs for all State/Territories in addition to your Home State)
  • Satisfactorily undergo a headspace Police Check
  • Have proof of a Covid-19 vaccination in accordance with the headspace COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy and any Government directives
