Hedland Well Women's Centre (HWWC) located in South Hedland WA, is a not-for-profit organisation for women living and working in the Hedland area.

We provide health promotion, prevention and treatment services in the area of women's health. Our Centre operates under the values of a social model of health addressing inequities for women.

Services include women's clinic, counselling, preventative health and wellbeing programs, social and community events, support groups and advocacy.

We are seeking a Health Promotion Officer to join our team The role includes providing support to develop, plan and deliver Health Promotion activities which reduce incidence of disease in our community and raise awareness of prevention, screening and healthy lifestyle opportunities.

Key annual events include;

  • Women on Wellness (WOW) events,
  • Pink Pilbara Breakfast,
  • Community morning teas,
  • And other community events, workshops & programs.

Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs.
  • Content planning, creation, scheduling, and reporting across various social media platforms.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively work autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing and conflicting priorities.
  • Attention to detail and ability provide advice relating to program/ event delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking.
  • Australian Federal Police clearance and Working with Children clearance.

Desirable criteria:

  • Associate Diploma or Cert IV in Health, Community or other relevant qualification or relevant experience.
  • Experience working with a culturally diverse population,
  • Awareness and understanding of the issues facing women particularly in remote areas.

Remuneration and benefits:

  • Above award salary with salary sacrifice available,
  • Plus 11% superannuation currently,
  • 5 weeks annual leave/ pro rata with additional 17.5% leave loading,
  • Allowances including remote living and travel,
  • Training and professional development opportunities.
