About us

HoMie is a Melbourne-based streetwear label and Social Enterprise. 100% of HoMie’s profits go towards achieving its mission: to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship.

Through our programs, HoMie supports young people affected by homelessness or hardship to equip them with skills, confidence and experiences to be more work ready and better prepared for their future.

With an impact led approach HoMie has supported over 3400 young people through our programs. We have a strong organisation wide commitment to creating positive outcomes for young people and meaningful, long-lasting change.

About the role

The HoMie Pathway Alliance is HoMie’s own certified Education and Employment program. Young people work part-time on the shop floor and study a Certificate III in Business, all while receiving wrap-around support. Young people are paid to work and study and are valued employees of HoMie.

As HoMie is uniquely positioned in both the Fashion Retail and Youth Homelessness sectors, we work closely with community service providers, retail partners and young people to create a ‘bridge’ between these networks to foster unique opportunities. This role builds strong positive relationships with stakeholders to drive our mission.

The Program Support worker will provide direct, consistent and tailored support to young people. The scope of this role is Employment and Education and includes running work readiness workshops, supporting classroom learning, organising excursions, facilitating support plans, some case activities and building participant engagement.

The Program Support worker not only provides support to the young people, but our Retail Partners Store Managers. The role includes consistent and tailored support to the Retail Store Managers who are implementing the program. This includes coaching on best approaches, facilitating performance review meetings, maintaining program processes and store visits around Melbourne.

The Program Support worker will also work collaboratively with Community Service Partners of the HoMie Pathway Alliance. This includes close collaboration with young people's care teams/case managers and timely and professional handovers/ case noting.
Outside of the key responsibilities of the HoMie Pathway Alliance, the role includes supporting the implementation of the HoMie VIP Program.

Throughout the year, we close the doors of our retail store to the public and invite young people affected by homelessness or hardship to be our VIP Shoppers. Young people shop for 5 free items of clothing, access hair and nail services, clothing customisation, self care packs and lunch. The role will support this program by supporting service delivery at the events.

The role also includes some activities in HoMie's Alumni program. The program support worker will build positive professional relationships with previous HoMie Pathway Alliance participants through 'Alumni Social Events' and 'Job Club'.
