Make-A-Wish Australia is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead the growth and diversification of new corporate partnerships.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for creating innovative fundraising proposals for new corporate partners and will work with new partners to sustainably raise funds aligned with established fundraising goals.

We are searching for a partnership professional who has a relationship-based approach, coupled with high degrees of emotional intelligence, compassion and dedication to impact the lives of children with critical illnesses, their families, and communities.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement strategic plans and activities that support the growth of new corporate partnership opportunities
- Manage a new business prospect pipeline, and apply strong commercial acumen and understanding of brand alignment to actively pitch and present compelling partnership opportunities
- Lead and initiate significant new multi-year partnership opportunities, creating a well-researched, individualised and compelling value proposition and proposal for each prospective partner, that aligns with Make-A-Wish values and goals
- Ensure that corporate partnership revenue targets are met or exceeded, and commit to continuous reporting and communication of progress to the team
- Track and report outcomes, while providing updated communication to all internal and external stakeholders involved
- Collaborate with all team members to ensure partnerships are nurtured, developed, and highly engaged, optimising income return and other benefits to Make-A-Wish
- Work closely with the Wish Services Team to understand opportunities to reduce the costs of wishes through business partnership activities and the ability to identify potential opportunities to approach new businesses with
- Present and deliver information to partners across in person or online in a variety of setting that may include staff events, fundraising events, information sessions, and conferences
Skills and Experience
- Proven success in a similar role building new business opportunities, with success in building multi-year high-valued partnerships
- Success in building a pipeline of partnerships and identifying, researching, cultivating, pitching, and securing high-level mutually beneficial partnership outcomes
- A background in business development and experience across the full sales cycle from research to contract development
- Confidence to pitch and present ideas and proposals to corporates in multiple settings
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in order to effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences
- Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to plan, implement, review and achieve project goals and objectives
- Ability to innovate, design and implement partnership strategies to achieve fundraising objectives
- Strong proficiency levels using CRM systems, with the ability to record comprehensive information
- High levels of emotional intelligence, tact, compassion, and professionalism
- A genuine interest to make in impact in the lives of the children and families that Make-A-Wish continually support
