About the Role

The Training and Impact Practitioner is responsible for facilitating training and workshops to support the capability uplift of frontline workers, community services, community members, and community leaders from multicultural communities. To build their knowledge and skills to support the identification and management of family violence risk within a migrant and refugee context. The role involves the design and delivery of engaging training content and case studies. The role requires to work in close collaboration with sector professionals and community members to ensure the training remains practical and effective. This is a dynamic role where commitment to continuous learning, social justice and cultural humility will be your strengths.

Key focus areas include:

  • Designing and delivering highly engaging training modules, providing expert advice and advocating for improved practice and service delivery within the family violence, multicultural and community sector, corporate sector and community members, to strengthen their response to migrant and refugee communities impacted by family violence.
  • Tailoring content, delivering and formatting high quality training to suit adult learning needs via face-to-face, online and e- learning settings and with a focus on promoting participants’ understanding of the gendered nature of family violence, application of intersectional feminism, culturally responsive practice, and knowledge of family violence within a multicultural context.
  • Keeping up with current trends and needs in the sector and ensuring the content is kept up to date in line with the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) in Victoria as well as informed by the practice expertise at inTouch.
  • Ensuring smooth delivery of training / workshops by planning and coordinating materials and relevant resources as needed together with the help of the Administration Lead.
  • Preparing and submitting proposals and quotes to funders and stakeholders, including fee for services, other funding and new business opportunities to drive the Unit’s business growth and sustainability of initiatives.
  • Monitoring and evaluating delivery of training and other capacity building initiatives, through the development and implementation of tools, analysis, surveys and documentation for building inTouch’s evidence base training that measures impact.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders to promote collaboration to deliver high-quality outcomes, including providing progress reports back to funders and stakeholders
  • Supporting the Training and Impact team as well contributing to a range of project work within inTouch's scope of advocacy through the development, marketing and implementation of high- quality products, new curriculum, and resources to advance existing and new opportunities.
  • Incumbent will on occasions and in consultation, be expected to conduct work outside normal business hours
  • Some travel regionally or nationally may be required from time to time.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Extensive experience in developing and delivering interactive training and presentations across a range of audiences, including working collaboratively with a co-facilitator or subject matter expert, as well as working independently in person and online.
  • Exposure in the design and delivery of capacity building initiatives within the family violence and/or wider community sector
  • Qualifications in Social Work / Community Development / Community Services / Psychology / Education or similar.
  • Strong understanding of working within an intersectional feminist framework and an understanding of the gendered nature of family violence; specifically in the context of multicultural communities.
  • Proven ability to proactively develop and sustain meaningful relationships and engage with various stakeholders including grassroots organisations.
  • Ability to maintain a proactive approach by taking ownership of tasks, pre-empting potential risks and providing agile solutions while demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving results.
  • Demonstrated ability to write project evaluation and progress plans and contribute to budgeting and reporting.
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a range of diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated technical skills utilising e-learning, multimedia tools and technologies that enhance the learning experience i.e. Microsoft Office suite of programs, Arlo, Zoom etc.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in the field of family violence, within broader community services or multicultural communities
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
