About the opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Employee Engagement, Training and Support and working collaboratively in a close-knit, passionate and solutions focused team, you will provide skills and wellbeing support to individuals with a disability in a safe and supportive workplace that provides opportunity for learning and growth. This includes:

  • Providing training and other supports (tasks, skills and behaviours) both one-on-one and in small groups
  • Liaison with key stakeholders regarding support and case management services
  • Developing and implementing behavioural interventions and strategies to support maximising employee achievement and potential
  • Working as a team with Operational staff to place employees into appropriate tasks each day and allocate jobs/tasks to maximise training opportunities and goal achievement
  • Developing and maintaining Individual Employment Plans, Risk Assessments and Strategies of Support
  • Ensuring all aspects of support and delivery align with the NDIS Practice Standards
  • Assisting with ‘Look and See Tours’ for prospective employees

Key Requirements

You are self -motivated and have the interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others. You are also resourceful, willing to learn and highly collaborative. Other key requirements include:

  • Minimum of Certificate III (preferably in Disability) or another relevant qualification in Community Services, or Aged Care - and/or extensive life experience supporting people with disability
  • Genuine connection with and passion for supporting people with a disability
  • The ability to work full-time Monday to Friday (8.15am to 4.45pm) on-site in Kew
  • Demonstrated maturity, attention to detail and patience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office
  • Current Level 2 First aid qualifications (or willingness to undertake)
  • NDIS Screening check (or willingness to undertake)

Mental Health First Aid training will be an advantage and experience in workplace training or within a provider of disability support services will be highly regarded.
