Position Overview

  • Leadership role involving strategic and operational mix.
  • Full-time or 4 days per week option based in friendly Melbourne CBD office but currently working from home.

About VACRO

VACRO is an independent non-profit organisation working with people caught in the criminal justice system and their families. Founded in 1872, we are Victoria’s oldest and only specialised criminal justice reintegration service. We provide reintegration, family, and employment support that enables people to create new beginnings for themselves and their families.

The Opportunity

Join our committed, passionate VACRO team who work with clients with complex needs. This diverse role requires an experienced HR professional to manage the strategic direction of the HR function whilst also overseeing and managing HR services and processes. Your natural abilities to engage and energise people through consultative and collaborative processes will be highly valued in creating and implementing people-related strategy as well as advising and supporting Managers on HR issues. Lead HR strategy and exciting strategic people projects to strengthen our culture and how we work.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualified in human resources, psychology, business, management or other relevant fields.
  • Knowledge and experience in employment legislation, compensation, organisational planning, recruitment, organisational development, employee relations, employee engagement, and learning and development within a community services setting.
  • Outstanding written communication and interpersonal skills including relationship building and employee coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including influencing positive change management.
  • Demonstrated experience in building professional internal relationships whilst delivering on key HR outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall organisation leadership and direction.
