The Organisation:

Our client’s mission is to take active leadership and an influential role in providing essential programs and services that strengthen the lives of those impacted by family violence in the community.

The Role:

The Counsellor - Family Violence reporting to the Team Leader will be responsible for delivering therapeutic group programs to women and children.

Specifically, you will be required to:

  • Co-facilitation of group programs in either Geelong or Colac.
  • Participation in the recruitment of individuals/families into the group program including, liaison with external referral agencies and conducting pre-group interviews.
  • Provision of high level therapeutic support to the individuals/families involved in the group program including advocacy and liaison with other service providers as required.
  • Maintain a caseload of individuals/families involved in the program.

The Candidate:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Degree or above qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy, or similar discipline.
  • Minimum two years relevant experience post qualification.
  • Understand principles and implement the practices of Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) / Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS). MARAM.
  • Knowledge and expertise in working therapeutically in a group setting.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the issues relating to sexual assault and family violence.

The Offer:

A salary package of $95,616 plus superannuation is on offer, along with attractive NFP salary packaging. Five weeks of Annual Leave, 17.5% leave loading, and a Hybrid working environment are also on offer.
