Juno is a specialist women’s (trans and cisgender) homelessness and family violence organisation that provides support services to women and non-binary people across six local government areas in the north of Melbourne. Each year we support up to 600 women and children who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness and/or family violence.

Juno is a support and advocacy organisation working across Melbourne. We provide gender-informed services that empower and support women and non-binary people and their children experiencing homelessness and housing stress, family violence and financial hardship.

OUR MISSION IS TO:

Partnering with women and nonbinary people to support their safety, increase their independence and enable them to thrive. Juno’s trauma-informed practice provides holistic wrap-around support that acknowledges the complexity of issues women, nonbinary people and their children face in their lives. Juno provides a safe and compassionate service for overcoming trauma and getting lives back on track.

Juno is currently recruiting for board directors who will support us to pursue our strategic goals.

We are seeking candidates with relevant experience in the homelessness and family violence sector or other not-for-profit sectors. Our priority need is for individuals with skills and expertise in risk, governance and compliance and/or accounting and financial management.

We are also interested to hear from anyone who has other skills or experience that may be relevant to Juno’s work as will be considering additional board members later in the year.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ROLES INCLUDES:

  • Extensive understanding of governance, risk management and compliance; and/or
  • Experience working or demonstrated high level understanding of the not-for-profit sector and relevant legislation/statutory requirements; and/or
  • Financial management and accounting experience; and
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically; and
  • Willingness to commit time the Board and the organisation.
  • Current working knowledge of the Victorian violence against women or homelessness sectors and/or not-for-profit sector is preferable.
