About the role

The Manager Disability Employment and Skills Development is an active front line senior manager, responsible for managing the day to day operations of all Skills Development and Employment services within Koomarri. The role is responsible for leading and developing teams of staff in the delivery of evidence-based, person-centered programming for people with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and related Neurodivergent conditions.

The Manager Disability Employment Skills Development role requires experience in managing high performing teams, and maintaining collaborative stakeholder relationships which aim to enhance business growth opportunities and contribute to positive outcomes for Koomarri service users and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of skilled and dedicated staff who strive to deliver high-quality, innovative programming.

The key result areas for this position are as follows:

  • Manage all aspects of Disability Employment and Skills Development services across the organisation.
  • Develop and manage all Employment and Skills budgets per region/service line.
  • Develop and deliver annual operational plans per region/service line.
  • Lead and manage staff to deliver quality services and maintain a positive self-sustaining team culture.
  • Develop, manage and maintain positive partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders including families, guardians and other service providers.
  • Develop, review and update operational and system process flows to enhance quality.
  • Manage quality business administration.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to organisational goals and your and you teams’ Professional Development.
  • Model and implement Koomarri’s Vision, Values and Code of Conduct.

  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of the NDIS funding model and strong business/financial acumen.
  • Understanding of contemporary disability policy, issues and trends.
  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Practice Standards and Code of Conduct.
  • Formal qualification in Disability or Community Services is desirable.

The Not-Negotiable and essential requirements:

  • A current ACT Working with Vulnerable People General Registration or relevant NDIS Worker Screening.
  • Current ACT or NSW driver’s license.
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Completion Certificate.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading teams in the community services sector in delivering a range of services across multiple sites.
