The Pregnancy Outreach Program aims to address the gaps within the homelessness service system, and bridge the divide between homelessness services and health services in order to create better outcomes for pregnant women experiencing homelessness. The Program does this by providing pregnant women with enhanced case management support, advocacy, information and referral pathways.
The Senior Worker – Youth Pregnancy Support position is responsible for providing high quality, client focused case management services to clients who are pregnant, experiencing homelessness and have complex needs. The primary purpose of this role is to assist with the immediate and ongoing support needs of young women (16-25), that are pregnant and at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
The program provides a range of flexible support services and high-level coordination to pregnant women for support periods of up to 12 weeks This case management support model is delivered through a feminist, strength based and trauma informed lens, to maximise independence and minimise service dependence, with a primary focus on empowering young pregnant women to navigate their health, pregnancy, and childbirth.
This role will be based at the Women’s Services Crisis Accommodation service based in St Kilda East with some outreach and out posting at other internal and/or external sites and services required
Launch Housing East St Kilda is one of the only crisis services in Victoria to employ and accommodate women (including trans and gender diverse individuals who identify as female). As such, only candidates who are women or who identify as female will be considered.
This is a maximum-term part-time role until June 2025, working 60.8 hours per fortnight.
