We are looking to expand our pool of staff that support clients in our Residential Care Service.
The Residential Care Service model has been created to support the most complex young people in Out of Home Care. This means the young person will be living in a house we run and provided with wrap around 24/7 care 1:1 or 1:2 support with Residential Support Workers doing 8-to-10-hour shifts.
We are looking for staff to support young people between the ages of 11-17 who have experienced significant trauma and who may display behaviours of concern including aggression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use and absconding.
The purpose of the Residential Support Worker role is to provide a safe and caring environment, assist the young person to de-escalate and regulate their emotions when required, help to develop independent living skills and help the young person re-engage in education and their community.
Candidates who have worked with disengaged young people who have experienced trauma and display challenging behaviours and candidates with experience working with clients with mental health challenges will be highly regarded.
Shifts will be based primarily NOR – Landsdale
You will be required to work a combination of Day shifts (8am to 4pm) and Night/Sleepover shifts (4pm to 8am with 8 hour sleepover)
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Department of Communities Check and Working with Children Check.
