The Lokahi Foundation is a not-for-profit focused on supporting women and children impacted by domestic and family abuse.

We provide support to enable and empower women to reclaim their lives, achieve a secure environment and assist in progressing down a path which will materially improve their situation.

Our organisation is looking to expand its team and is seeking an energised, motivated and extremely organised caseworker to work with and support female victim-survivors of domestic and family abuse and their children.

This is a part-time position (3 days a week). Minimum SCHADS Award Level 4.2 depending on experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in the welfare field and experience in working specifically with victim-survivors of domestic and family abuse/violence.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the welfare field.
  • Deliver individual casework and safety planning with clients.
  • Provide information, referral, liaison and advocacy with women and children to access appropriate services and support.
  • Awareness of the impacts of domestic and family abuse on women and children.
  • Awareness of Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Capacity to deal with women and children in crisis and prioritise their needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and clear understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Understanding of child protection and relevant legislation.
  • Computer literacy and comfortable with Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint and Gmail.
  • Comply with WHS policies and safe work practices.
  • Committed and driven to Lokahi’s cause.
  • Must be prepared to undergo a Police and a Working With Children Check.
