The Lokahi Foundation is a not-for-profit focused on supporting women and children impacted by domestic and family abuse.
We provide support to enable and empower women to reclaim their lives, achieve a secure environment and assist in progressing down a path which will materially improve their situation.
Our organisation is seeking an energised, motivated and extremely organised caseworker manager to lead Lokahi’s caseworkers and also take charge of the day-to-day operations for our growing not-for-profit.
This is a 12-month contract to cover parental leave.
This is a part-time position (4 days a week). Minimum SCHADS Award Level 5.2 depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Accountabilities
- Manage and lead casework team, providing them guidance and support
- Provide monthly internal supervision for caseworkers
- Manage intake of clients and triage clients at high risk
- Hold a small client caseload
- Manage operating manual procedures and policies for Lokahi
- Oversee effective running of Lokahi’s programs
- Maintain and manage Lokahi’s volunteer database and CRM
- Lead weekly team staff meetings
- Maintain strong relations with DV service providers
- Maintain strong awareness of relevant legislation in relation to child protection, women and children at risk, and family law (including ADVOs and family court processes)
- Timely reporting to CEO of updates and any significant issues
- Conduct risk assessment and safety planning for clients including the use of DVSAT
ESSEntial criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the welfare field and experience in working specifically with victim-survivors of domestic and family abuse/violence
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the welfare field
- Awareness of Trauma-Informed Care
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage others in a working environment
- Capacity to deal with women and children in crisis and prioritise their needs
- Demonstrated ability to oversee an manage the collection and reporting of client data
- Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills
- Advanced organisation skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Commitment to ethical practice and clear understanding of cultural diversity
- Understanding of child protection and relevant legislation
- Computer literacy and comfortable with Microsoft Office
- Comply with WHS policies and safe work practices
- Committed and driven to Lokahi’s cause
- Must be prepared to undergo a Police and a Working With Children Check
