Mary’s House Services is looking for an organised, outgoing community engagement coordinator to join its Philanthropy and Communications team, working to raise funds to support women and their children impacted by domestic and family violence.
As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the Philanthropy and Communications Manager to nurture and manage our relationships with community stakeholders, including our relationships with individuals, corporates and community members who support us in a range of ways, including volunteers, and with people who attend our events.
We are looking for someone who ticks the boxes above and has the experience and motivation to provide support to the Philanthropy and Communications Manager for relationship management and communications with others wishing to raise funds on our behalf. You would also play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination and management of events, with the support of the Philanthropy team, other staff and volunteers.
And you:
Experience working in a not-for-profit organisation will be highly regarded, as will experience using online event ticketing software such as Humanitix, Eventbrite or similar, and experience using software related to communications such as Canva.
This is a permanent position and you will be a member of our Philanthropy and Communications team. You will be reporting to the Philanthropy and Communications Manager and collaborating with the Database and Communications Coordinator who is a member of the team.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will grow and manage community fundraising initiatives (in-house and third party) at the same time as researching and developing a pipeline of new community supporter relationships to attract new donors and deepen community engagement with our purpose. Part of the role entails providing high level administrative and communications support for the Manager’s and the CEO’s engagement with community fundraising supporters and corporate supporters.
You will also coordinate and support the recruitment of volunteers who support in-house or community fundraising events. You must be willing to work outside normal business hours occasionally, such as for an evening event (time in lieu offered).
Mary’s House Services is a wonderful example of what a community can achieve when it identifies a gap in services and an urgent need for community support. We are a grass roots organisation, providing quality services for women and children who have experienced domestic or family abuse. We offer safety, hope, and empowerment for women and children to rebuild their lives.
Established in 2016 as an independent not-for-profit, we innovate to provide support services in response to community needs. Through Mary’s House refuge, the Daisy Centre, and other services, we offer professional support, accommodation, case management services and therapeutic groups to women, while they navigate options before, during and after leaving an abusive relationship.
Please call to speak to our Philanthropy and Communications Manager Janine Wood on (02) 8937 2094 to discuss your interest in this role. Enquiries will be answered promptly and be kept confidential. If you prefer to simply apply click Apply Now to submit your application.
