More about the role:

The McGrath Foundation cancer care nursing program is expanding and we need additional team members to assist with the growth and support our increasing number of nurses. The Program Coordinator plays a key role in the efficient running of the McGrath nursing program service. This role is non-clinical and involves overseeing operational/administrative functions and providing day to day support to a portfolio of McGrath Cancer Care Nurses.

Through building strong relationships and engaging key stakeholders, the Program Coordinator will manage and coordinate operational activities, providing administrative and advisory support to nurses to ensure they are well equipped to focus on delivery of best practice supportive cancer care nursing aligned with the McGrath Model of Care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders to execute new funding agreement contracts and contract renewals for McGrath Cancer Care Nurse placements, ensuring the process is properly administered and managed.
  • Key liaison and relationship manager for nurses and their managers for McGrath funded positions.
  • Support relevant health service stakeholders with the recruitment and placement of qualified specialist nurses to fill McGrath Cancer Care Nursing positions.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for McGrath Cancer Care Nurses including the coordination of key induction and learning milestones.
  • Work closely with line managers and clinical leads to embed the McGrath Model of Care for all McGrath Cancer Care Nurses and day to day operational success in the role.
  • Ensure key deliverables of the nursing program are met and make certain nurses are fully supported to successfully achieve operational and clinical outcomes. This includes leading regular documented check-ins with each McGrath Cancer Care Nurse and maintaining accurate data collection for processing and analysis of nurse position impact.
  • Collaborate with the broader Foundation team to facilitate the compilation of nurse stories and engage nurses to attend promotional and fundraiser opportunities for McGrath Foundation.

This role is a full-time position, working 5 days per week. Our teams currently work under a hybrid working model.

Who we are looking for:

  • We are looking for a passionate and organised individual with a mix of the following experience and skills:
  • Experience working in a people-focused, value-add support or advisory role – this could be in Human Resources, healthcare, practice management, project management or general business administration.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • An understanding of some or all aspects of working in a healthcare environment would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workflow to meet operational demands.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
