Mentis Assist is a leading not-for-profit Community Managed Mental Health Service (CMMHS) established in 1987. We specialise in supporting individuals with severe mental health conditions by delivering flexible, recovery-oriented services. Our mission is to enable people to lead meaningful lives by enhancing their health, independence, and social participation.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership in human resource matters and manage all aspects of the employee life cycle
  • Advise and assist managers in applying sound recruitment and selection practices, and ensure appropriate salary grading and remuneration are applied
  • Ensure pre-employment checks are undertaken and develop orientation processes and systems
  • Coordinate employee training requirements
  • Work with program leaders to develop and implement performance appraisal systems
  • Report on human resource activities including workforce planning
  • Manage Workcover claims and employee return to work plan after injury
  • Supervise, support and direct the Administration Officer responsible for human resources support

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline, postgraduate diploma or certificate in training and assessment or adult learning
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a community services environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of employment law and standards and workplace awards and agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to develop strong networks and liaise with external stakeholders
  • Demonstration of high level of professional and ethical behaviour within an organisational setting
  • Ability to work with IT systems such as human resource and learning platforms, and a high level of ability with Microsoft packages

Additional Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment screening checks
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current Victorian drivers licence and ability to undertake travel as required
