Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Remote Area Midwife to join the Women’s Program. In this role, you will collaborate with the Aboriginal Health workforce to deliver high-quality antenatal and postnatal care to clients in the Galiwin'ku community. This is a permanent full-time position, with the option for Fly-in Fly-out arrangements.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling YolÅ‹u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, as well as knowledge of the unique challenges faced by Yolngu people in remote settings.
The candidate must have current Registration and Practicing Certificate as a Registered Midwife Nurse through AHPRA; Relevant tertiary/post graduate qualifications and experience in public health, paediatrics and/or Primary Health Care; 5 years’ experience working in Maternal and Child Health program and must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of primary health care and program delivery in the remote area primary health care context.
