Job Description

The Wellspring Cluster Lead works within a shared Leadership framework to achieve the objectives of the Wellspring Services Cluster and provide leadership and management to ensure quality and responsive services are provided to women, children, and families.

This is a permanent, part-time role with a minimum of 60.8 hours per fortnight and is classified under the SCHADS Award as a Level 8.

The Wellspring Services Cluster consists of the Young Mothers for Young Women programs in Brisbane (YMYW), Caboolture (CYMYW), and Redcliffe (RYMYW), and the Family Inclusion Network (FINSEQ).

The YMYW Programs offer support to young pregnant and parenting women, their children, and families. The Brisbane and Redcliffe services are open to women who are aged 25 years and under and aged 20 years and under in Caboolture. Young women can access a variety of services through our Wellspring Hubs including group connections, planned support, antenatal services, and child health connections.

The Family Inclusion Network, Southeast Queensland (FINSEQ) is a network of parents and their allies working to improve the child protection and family support system. FIN brings together parents with lived (and living) experience, with government and non-government agencies, to work collaboratively on policies and issues that affect families experiencing the child protection system.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are seeking candidates with the following skills & experience:

  • Cluster Leads are required to hold relevant Social Work, Human Services, and/or Business and Administration tertiary qualifications and extensive experience, or a combination of experience, expertise, and competence.
  • Experience in working and leading service delivery and support for vulnerable parents and families.
  • Experience in working with the Child Protection System.
  • The ability to recognise, conceptualise, and address system issues impacting vulnerable parents.
  • Experience in managing and leading and the demonstrated ability to create teamwork with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring respect for diversity and differences from cultural, gender identity, professional training, and experiences.
  • Evidence of effectiveness of communication style, written and verbal skills, and IT competencies (including Microsoft Office and other IT systems) to foster collaboration, teamwork and confidence in the quality and impact of the service.
  • A positive attitude, and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of participants and understanding of trauma informed care.
  • A current Positive Notice Blue Card (or ability to quickly obtain one) and valid working rights.
