About the role

The Human Resources Operations business unit provides core support Human Resources (HR) services in HR Business Partnering, Health Safety & Wellbeing, Recruitment and HR Information Systems to management and employees across Mind. The HR Operations teams provide high level support, expert advice and information, coaching, policies and procedures, business processes, continuous improvement strategies, HR technology systems and programs to enable efficient, effective management of these core support services to ensure the organisation is able to grow, financially sustainable, a safe place to work and technologically enabled.

We are seeking a self-motivated, high performing Health Safety and Wellbeing Partner for a permanent, part time opportunity in Burnley, Melbourne area with the flexibility to work from home 3 days and in the office 1 day per week. You will support the development, design, integration and maintenance of effective and sustainable support services, WHS management systems and practices, policies and procedures, audits, safety and incident reporting, training programs and project management to ensure legislative compliance and work, health and safety standards are met across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the design, development and implementation of business processes and systems to ensure that Mind operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Support the organisation to understand operational HSW processes, policies, legislative requirements and work together to streamline processes.
  • Work collectively with HR Operations, Human Resource Business Partners, Recruitment and HR Information Systems teams to provide HR Operational solutions and advice to the organisation.
  • Develop, implement, and support contemporary best practice HSW management policies, procedures and practices.
  • Support the implementation of the work, health and safety (WHS) management system including HSW policies and procedures across the organisation and project management of significant health, safety and wellbeing programs.
  • Support Injury Management Partner to deliver timely, proactive management of workers compensation claims and return to work (RTW) matters. 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Organisational Behaviour, Psychology, or other related field is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar Health Safety & Wellbeing business partnering role in a complex, contemporary environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HSW policies and procedures, practices, legislative compliance, occupational health, workplace safety, incident reporting, wellbeing management, return to work and rehabilitation practices, and occupational risk management.
  • Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), NDIA, Supported Independent Living (SIL), residential care, assisted living and Core Supports is desirable.
