Your Opportunity

Our Employee Relations Team is seeking a skilled and passionate Employment Relations Specialist to join our Corporate Services team on a full-time basis.

This exceptional opportunity to take on a pivotal role where you will deliver professional employment and industrial relations (ER/IR) services across our organisation.

Reporting directly to the Employment Relations Manager, you will become an integral part of a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to impactful and meaningful work that makes a real difference in the community. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Partnering with and supporting stakeholders as a trusted advisor providing consistent, accurate and clear coaching, specialist advice and guidance on all ER/IR matters where there is complexity and/or risk.
  • Undertake formal investigations in response to workplace misconduct and/or grievance matters.
  • Take an active role as a key contact and representative for discussions, negotiations and hearings with Unions, employment/industrial Tribunals (state and federal) and other employment stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development & enhancement of IR/ER strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance, best practice and minimise risk.
  • Collaborating and working in partnership on P&C related projects & initiatives.
  • Deliver training and support to management on IR/ER topics to enhance understanding and compliance.

Requirements for Success

  • Tertiary qualifications, ideally in Industrial Relations, Law or HR Management.
  • Relevant practical experience, knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and industrial instruments (including Awards, Enterprise Agreements and compliance) and their application in a complex organisation.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • High level communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem solving, research and analytical skills, hands-on, pragmatic, resilient and flexible with experience and knowledge in navigating in a large business and operating under a matrix structure.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
