Your Opportunity

We have a job opportunity for you to join the HR Systems Team as a Rostering Specialist!

In this role you will provide crucial rostering support to leaders within Mission Australia services. You will promote efficient rostering processes and enable best economically viable practices. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful migration of all manual rostering practices to our advanced time and attendance system, KRONOS. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency and supporting our leadership in delivering top-quality service.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop electronic rosters for Leader approval/sign-off based on a comprehensive understanding of the operational needs of the service and demand within the geographical area of responsibility
  • Support the transition from local to centralised rostering practices for services working 24/7, weekends and evenings
  • Establish and manage centralised rosters for new services transitioning to the new system
  • Ensure smooth setup of fortnightly rosters in the rostering software for all employees
  • Minimise disruption to services and other staff due to last minute unplanned roster changes
  • Ensure short notice absences are responded to in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Engage with Community Services and Housing Operations Leaders to understand their operational and regulatory/compliance requirements, identifying issues by cohort or geography to effectively match staff with service requirements
  • Socialise roster improvements with people leaders and HR/IR, seeking feedback prior to implementing changes
  • Ensure roster documentation and training materials are up to date and a procedure in place for ongoing maintenance

Requirements for Success

  • A sound understanding of employee contractual and award/enterprise agreement obligations
  • Previous experience in rostering, ideally in Community Services, Health or Housing
  • Proficiency in in rostering software and MS Excel and ability to adapt and learn new software to complete tasks
  • Demonstrated experience in using KRONOS rostering systems.
  • Strong communication skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously and to prioritise work in a busy environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively, build and sustain strong internal and external relationships

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks.
