Morrgul is a not-for-profit indigenous business consultancy that supports Aboriginal people in growing businesses and winning tenders. Morrgul has received funding to employ a Community Grants Coordinator as part of its commitment to supporting local communities.

The Role

The primary objectives of this position are to:

  • Researching and identifying suitable Aboriginal Prescribed Body Corporates and Corporations, Community Groups and other Not-for profits that seek funding through grants

  • Identifying suitable grants and ‘matching’ the grant opportunity to its database of prospects/stakeholders

  • Liaise with stakeholders as required to support their grant applications. Compile and submit, or support the compilation of, grant submissions/ applications to both government and private funding bodies

  • Building the capacity of Aboriginal Prescribed Body Corporates and Corporations, Community Groups and other Not for Profit organisations to enable them to apply for future grant applications

  • Facilitate and coordinate the completion of all reporting requirements for grants compliance with the funding body  

The Duties:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate as the central point of contact for building the stakeholder base

  • Develop highly effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Undertake research and be fully aware of grant opportunities including Federal, State & Local government, plus philanthropic organisations

  • Understanding each stakeholder/client’s funding objectives and requirements and then identifying grant opportunities and passing these opportunities on

  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposal narratives that highlight each stakeholders’ unique capabilities, experience, and value proposition.

  • Maintaining a grant submission register including tracking success rates and submission losses.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Over two years working on tenders, grants or proposal submissions.

  • Relevant qualifications with a solid academic track record.

  • High level of oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.

  • Confidence in dealing with people and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Ability to use initiative and communicate effectively with Aboriginal people or people from culturally diverse backgrounds as well as colleagues.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as cooperatively as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to organise work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal organisations and people.

  • Experience working in the Not-for-Profit sector

  • Technology skills –e.g. excel, word, Sharepoint, MS Teams

Licenses & Accreditations 

  • Cleared National Police Check 

  • Drivers’ License

Salary & Benefits

Immediate start available. 

A competitive salary will be negotiated based on skills and experience. NFP salary packaging is available. The role is based in Broome WA.
