Meals on Wheels Tasmania is a not-for-profit organisation that commenced its operation in Tasmania in 1955, we now have 15 branch locations spread across the State from Smithton in the Northwest, to St Helens in the Northeast down to Huon Valley in the far South. Our dedicated 50 staff and 750+ volunteers deliver over 250,000 meals every year to frail, aged people, and people with disabilities enabling them to remain independent in their own homes for longer.
Meals on Wheels Tasmania is seeking a passionate Human Resources Officer to join their team. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll be playing an essential role within our organisation. This is a key administrative role responsible for driving HR initiatives focusing on employee and volunteer recruitment, engagement, development, compliance, inspire and engage the talented staff and volunteers who are vital to our organisation’s success.
This position is a generalist role by nature, and you will be required to provide HR advice and support to the General Manager and employees across areas of employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, record keeping and reporting, training, and development, including succession planning, ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation and contemporary HR management practices.
We are seeking a candidate to maintain our existing systems and processes, as well as to proactively provide recommendations for compliance with any new legislation or regulations.
A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role performing generalist HR functions, qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent, strong understanding of modern awards and employment law, knowledge of Employment Hero would be an advantage but not essential.
