Employment Consultant - Disability Employment Services

In this full-time role, you will support participants diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and other Neurological Conditions (ONC) to achieve their goals in maintaining or obtaining their chosen employment in the open labour market.

Working 3 days a week from our brand-new purpose-built workspace nestled at Milton’s Park Road, and accessible by multiple public transport options, join a respectful, transparent, and collaborative team at MS Queensland where values are at the core.

In this position, you will:

  • Facilitate and/or conduct assessments to establish participant’s status and needs
  • Identify any vocational barriers and non-vocational barriers and improve prospects in acquiring and maintaining employment
  • Coordinate and provide appropriate assistance to participants and employers
  • Work closely with Employment Support Consultants to facilitate services, treatment and sourcing and purchasing of equipment
  • Aid participants and employers as required when job seekers are placed in new employment and monitor progress
  • Provide outstanding customer service, mentorship and relationship building
  • Refer customers to other services or external providers as appropriate

About you

  • 2- 3 years' experience in Disability Employment Services
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Employment Services, Training, Community Services or similar highly desirable
  • Knowledge of employment barriers that individuals with a disability face when trying to maintain or look for employment
  • Proven ability to maintain and coordinate client caseload
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative participant and outcome focused strategies
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Advanced negotiation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with our participants
