The National Association of Services against Sexual Violence (NASASV) has existed for more than thirty years as the national peak body for specialist sexual violence services. Our member services are dedicated to providing prevention and response services to people who are at risk of or who have experienced sexual violence in Australia. NASASV is growing its national voice and is seeking to appoint its first Executive role at a critical point in time to make an impact.
Reporting directly to the Chair and collaborating closely with the members, the Executive Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting and shaping the future of NASASV in identifying innovative strategies that enhance our national profile, increase awareness of sexual violence and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include serving as the Board Secretariat to ensure seamless communication and coordination, developing and preparing policy submissions that reflect our mission and vision and partnering with the Treasurer and Executive team to manage finances and secure funding. The Executive Officer will also collaborate with the Board to create powerful advocacy strategies and communication plans and will demonstrate a measured and effective voice in all interactions, representing NASASV with integrity and passion.
This position will commence as part-time (0.6 FTE) with an initial contract of 12 months with the aim of further extension as the organisation’s national profile and impact grows.
The successful candidate will be a passionate, dedicated, strategic and impactful advocate who possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an understanding of sexual violence. Demonstrated experience in thriving in complex and ambiguous environments, excelling with limited supervision and a measured approach to problem-solving and decision-making is also required. Relevant knowledge and understanding of sexual and gender-based violence sector is desirable.
The location is flexible with the successful candidate ideally based in an Eastern state of Australia with the opportunity to co-locate with the state-based office of Sexual Assault Services Victoria.
