ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is suited to a communications professional with an understanding of current digital marketing trends and best practice, strong creative and lateral thinking skills, strong writing and storytelling skills, problem solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.

You will work with an enthusiastic team on interesting and exciting projects that support our members in their drive to achieve gender balanced workplaces. The role is flexible and hybrid, working one-two days per week from our Richmond based office and the remaining hours flexibly. We are outcomes focussed and family friendly. This could be a great opportunity if you are returning to work from parental leave or just seeking that extra bit of flex in your professional life to attend to other priorities.

In this role, you will plan, implement and evaluate impactful multi-platform marketing and communications campaigns aligned to NAWO’s strategy, with a focus on digital marketing and communications channels. Responsibilities include;

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies aligned with NAWO’s vision and goals, ensuring brand consistency across all communications.
  • Plan and execute communication campaigns to effectively promote NAWO’s services, events and initiatives, collaborating with internal and volunteer team members.
  • Ensure the integrity and alignment of the NAWO website, social media platforms and other digital channels.
  • Manage the canva digital marketing communications brand kit and templates ensuring the NAWO team is producing communications consistent with NAWO’s strategy and tone of voice.
  • Produce the monthly NAWO Now newsletter that engages our membership and creates a sense of community.
  • Plan, craft and deliver communications including editorial articles, case studies, social media content, newsletters, press releases and annual reports, ensuring messaging is aligned to NAWO’s objectives.
  • Provide content and materials in support of grant and funding applications.
  • Monitor, analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of communications, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Provide communication support and guidance to the NAWO CEO, executive team, board and volunteer committees, as needed.
  • Supervision of one direct report – casual social media administrator.

About you

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or other related field OR commensurate work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in a communications role servicing multiple stakeholders. Experience in a fast paced not-for-profit or corporate environment will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful communication strategies and plans.

Skillsets:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent copy writing skills, with a flair for storytelling and capturing interest.
  • Proven experience generating story ideas and creating meaningful content in line with a strategic communication plan and organisational values, mission and goals.
  • Capability in developing and publishing approved content for social media using scheduling tools, and knowledge of trends and techniques for building and maintaining following and engagement on Linked In, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Ability to publish different styles of communications using Mail Chimp to optimise delivery, and managing audience lists, segments, and databases.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain branded products on Canva (e.g., brand kits, templates, tiles, banners, flyers, brochures, etc.).
  • Proven ability in updating and maintaining SEO-friendly and accessible website content (WordPress).
  • Capable in creating quality rich media products (i.e., audio and video) from scripting, recording, editing, publishing, and promoting.

  • Exceptionally organised, you keep everyone on track in a friendly, calm and collaborative way.
  • A self starter you use your initiative to solve issues and problems and also know when to seek support from others.
  • You have a knack for creativity and hooking people into a key message through your communications.
  • You work fast and efficiently and have a keen eye for detail.
  • You give and receive feedback with curiosity and respect.
  • You are experienced in executing to an integrated communications plan aligned to strategy.
