About your new role

Neami National's WorkWell programs support recovery through open employment. With the support from the Employment Services Manager and the WorkWell team, the Employment Specialist will work in the context of the Individual Placement and Support model (IPS), supporting the consumers working toward their individual employment goals. This support will be through one on one and group sessions. The principles of IPS are competitive employment, integration into a mental health team, individual preferences, zero exclusion, rapid-job search, job development, benefits counselling, and time-unlimited support. At Hurstville, WorkWell supports consumers in the Health and Employment Initiative. The Employment Specialist might work in partnership with the Connect and Thrive team.

What you will bring to the role

  • Tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline (ie Peer work, Social Work, Counselling or Human Services).
  • Ability to leverage performance data and other insights to inform continuous improvement and action
  • Experience working with client information systems, maintaining accurate documentation and data collection
  • Uphold ethical behaviour, consistent with the values of honesty, fairness, responsibility, and hope.
  • Demonstrate integrity, credibility and foster open communication.
  • Positively listens and consults with others to proactively address conflict.
  • Demonstrates an interest and understanding of others and relates well to people at all levels.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and ability to reflect and handle feedback well and learn from it

What the role requires

  • National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
  • Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
  • Current drivers licence
