  • Part-Time, Permanent (0.8 FTE)
  • Classification: SCHADS Level 5 with a salary range of $97,476 - $101,883 per annum (pro rata) + Superannuation

About your new role

The role of the Student Placement Coordinator is to liaise with learning institutions including universities, colleges and TAFEs, in the development of partnerships for the placement of students from a number of disciplines such as Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Psychology.

The Student Placement Coordinator will be responsible for the ongoing development of Neami National student placement guidelines and procedures that will be made available to Neami service managers and educational institutions. This will ensure a streamlined student placement process.

The position is responsible for supporting staff who are supervising students and creating and maintaining resources for supervisors to ensure they have up-to-date information about student placements. It will be their responsibility to create resources for students to assist them to better understand and perform in their role as a student at Neami. Should any problems arise during student placements, the Student Placement Coordinator is responsible in supporting the resolution of such events. In addition to this, they will also seek to support and identify possible research opportunities within Neami services and build partnerships possible participating universities.

The position will actively support and engage in student recruitment processes including promoting and increasing awareness of Neami employment opportunities in educational institutions, attending career fairs and industry days to support the proactive procurement of suitable candidates.

What you will bring to the role

Essential

  • A qualification in a relevant discipline such as community mental health, social work, psychology, or other health or community related discipline; or experience to the same level.
  • Experience in the areas of social work, community health/welfare or allied health.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships in partnership with a range of stakeholders, networking and mutual problem solving.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the issues relevant to people living with mental ill health and who have complex needs.
  • Ability and commitment to work on your own initiative and/or in a team approach.
  • Ability to collect and maintain complex records for data collection, reports and recording ongoing communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple moving part and maintain positive relationships across all stakeholders involved.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly convey information, providing others with clear direction and expectation.
  • Ability to travel within Victoria [Metro and Regional travel required].
  • A valid and current Australian Driver License and access to personal vehicle.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.
  • All staff are required to adhere to the Neami Mental Health & Wellbeing Service immunisation policy directives to minimise the risk of vaccine preventable diseases to protect workers, other employees, consumers and visitors.

Desirable

  • Ability to use Excel highly desirable.
