The CFMEU ACT represents over 2,000 construction workers in the ACT. The Union works to improve the lives of its members by bargaining for higher pay and conditions and supports improvements in workplace health and safety. The Union also campaigns on social justice issues that are relevant to its members.
In this newly created role you will develop and deliver the Women in Construction Industry Co-ordination Project, working with the Union, construction workers, Territory Government, industry and stakeholders to deliver actions to support increased participation by women in the construction industry. The Project will support safe and inclusive workplaces in the construction industry, and increase women’s participation and retention in the industry.
Specifically you will:
You’re currently performing a like-minded role ideally in a feminist environment, within education, training, a Union, industry or NFP. You have a knowledge of the major policy issues for gender and employment, and the relationship between industry and professional concerns, equity and discrimination.
You have the capacity to develop networks and work collaboratively with a diverse range of external allies, and stakeholders and an understanding of campaigning and its importance to achieve objectives.
