About the Job

The Koori Access Project (KAP) aims to increase treatment completion for Aboriginal People at residential drug and alcohol withdrawal services. The main aim is to support clients through the Community Residential Withdrawal (CRW) assessments, intake and treatment process and with any post withdrawal treatment needs that have been identified as part of that clients Individual Treatment Plan.

Reporting to the Clinical Services Coordinator and working within the clinical services delivery team, the KAP Worker for Women will work with individuals, organisations and communities to provide culturally safe outreach support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are affected by alcohol and other drug use.

About the Pay

  • ASAP start preferred
  • Full-time contract until 30 June 2023
  • NFP Salary Packaging Benefits up to $15,900
  • Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 3

About You

  • Knowledge and understanding of indigenous history and/or culture and commitment to the indigenous community
  • Understanding of the issues associated with AOD and their effects on the Aboriginal Community
  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
  • Previous experience working in the AOD support space
  • Able to develop positive relationships with vulnerable clients and work within a stressful environment
