Newcastle Meals on Wheels is a dynamic and impactful Not-For-Profit Charity Organisation. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our Board of Directors as a Volunteer Board Member.

Role Overview:

As a Volunteer Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting Newcastle Meals on Wheels in achieving its mission. We are specifically looking for individuals with local community focus. In particular people with Aged Care, HR, Marketing or experience working in Community Services, whose experience will contribute practical insights, leadership skills, and professional expertise to our organisation's success.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic guidance and leadership in line with Meals on Wheels mission and goals.
• Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes.
• Contribute specialised skills, knowledge, and networks to enhance the organisation's impact.
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation, promoting its mission and values within the community.
• Collaborate with fellow board members and staff to ensure effective governance and oversight.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Aged Care, HR, Marketing, Community Services and/or senior executive experience.
• Strong leadership and execution skills.
• Commitment to and passion for the mission of Newcastle Meals on Wheels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
• Understanding of nonprofit governance and compliance.

Commitment:

Board meetings are held monthly and may require additional time commitments for committee work, events, and strategic planning. (up to approx. 1 day per month)
