North Queensland Combined Women's Services Inc. also known as The Women's Centre, comprises a Sexual Assault Support Service, a Specialist Homelessness Service and a Women’s Health Service that provides counselling, group therapy, support and information, for women experiencing emotional and psychological distress and trauma. The Sexual Assault Support Service is also an integral part of the Townsville’s Sexual Assault Response Team, a collaboration with other services to provide a holistic wrap-around service to victims of sexual assault on a 24 hour basis. In addition the Women’s Centre operates a Social Enterprise to support women in the community, and improve their opportunity for employment.

Suitable applicants require social science, psychology, or social work tertiary level qualifications. Skills and experience in the areas of sexual assault and domestic and family violence, counselling, mental health and advocacy is essential. It is also a requirement of this position to participate in our 24 hour on-call roster as a part of a Sexual Assault Response Team.
