About the Role

As an advisor, you will be working in a team environment, promoting Union values, and supporting Members by providing advice regarding policies and procedures, Award entitlements and general working conditions.

We currently have the below opportunities available for this role:

• Immediate start to 27 June 2025 (full-time),
• Casual, full-time and part-time opportunities.

About You

To be considered for this fixed-term full-time position you will need to clearly demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

• Positive attitude towards unionism
• High degree of political awareness, tact and diplomacy
• Respect for sensitivity and confidentiality
• High level of emotional intelligence
• High competency in oral and written communication
• Willing to learn, understand and explain policies, procedures, Award entitlements, legislation etc.
• Computer skills – minimum of intermediate MS Office and knowledge of database applications

In addition to your professional administrative skills, your ability to be flexible and adaptable within ongoing but changeable assignments is desirable in an inclusive and diverse workplace.

The New South Wales Teachers Federation is the registered trade union representing NSW public school teachers in pre-schools, infants, primary and secondary schools and TAFE colleges. The NSW Teachers Federation looks after a multiplicity of issues on behalf of teachers. It also regards public education as a strong foundation for a sure future. Thus, it campaigns for betterments for all students who attend public schools so that they will receive a quality education.
