The Kimberley – Like Nowhere Else Alliance is looking for a person with communications and campaign experience who is passionate about WA's unique Kimberley region and protecting one of Australia's most important, free-flowing rivers – the Martuwarra Fitzroy River.

WHAT YOU’D BE WORKING ON  

The Campaign Communications role will work alongside The Kimberley – Like Nowhere Else team to deliver a communications strategy and help build widespread public awareness and support for protecting the Martuwarra Fitzroy River. 

This Perth-based role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong communication skills and an interest in environmental advocacy to help achieve conservation outcomes for WA's Kimberley region.

SCOPE OF WORK 

  • Creating engaging content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and websites. 
  • Assist with management of social media channels. 
  • Assist with organising events and public engagement opportunities. 
  • Assist in maintaining positive relationships with partner organisations, stakeholders, Traditional Owners and the media. 
  • Assist in the delivery of media releases and media pitches to online, print and TV media. 
  • Assist in the creation of video content. 
  • Assist with designing and developing campaign materials. 
  • Assist the WA Campaign Coordinator with development and delivery of the communications strategy. 
  • Work with The Kimberley – Like Nowhere Else team to deliver on the campaign strategy. 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • Bachelor degree in communications, graphic design, digital media, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in communications or digital media. 
  • Ability to write, design and edit digital and print campaign materials and manage web content. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Excellent copywriting, proof-reading skills and attention to detail. 
  • Creative and innovative thinker. 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently. 
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills. 
  • Passionate about conserving our natural and cultural environment. 

DESIRABLE SKILLS 

  • Experience working with print, online and TV media. 
  • Lived experience or experience working with First Nations people.  
  • Campaigning experience. 
  • Experience in video production. 
  • Experience managing social media campaigns. 
  • Experience using graphic design programs. 

   TERMS  

  • This is a contract position and the fee scale per annum ranges from $75,000 – 80,000 depending on skills and experience, plus 11.5% superannuation. It is expected that the brief will require a workload of 5 days per week. 
  • The initial contract runs through to June 2025 with extension possible, dependent upon performance, funding and campaign requirements.
  • This is a contract position for 5 days per week, requiring a current Australian Business Number. 
  • The successful applicant will need a valid driver’s licence. 
  • This position may require travel within WA and interstate. 

 LOCATION 

  • The role is based in Perth with a central office located in West Perth. 
  • The role is part of a hybrid working model, with the ability to work from home on agreed days.
