Under the shade of boab trees sits One Tree Derby Children’s Service in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. This service is very connected to the Derby community and school, taking part in local festivals and providing a school readiness program in the final term. You’ll join a service that offers a nursery, toddlers, and kindy room. Along with out of school hours care and vacation care.

This position
- Provide support services for trainees at One Tree services through the Pathways Mentor Program
- Increase trainee’s numbers in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, in town, making it easier for local people to work there
- Being honest, patient, and good at listening when supporting trainees complete their training
- Assist to increase completion rates of trainee qualifications in the local workforce
- Be an enthusiastic role model to help provide a culturally safe workplace
- Assist to meet the outcomes and deliverables as set out in the Pathways Project Plan
Requirements
- Be eligible to work in Australia
- Live in Derby or willing to relocate
- Current WA Working with Children Check
- Satisfactory National Police Clearance
- Hold a current Driver’s licence

- Experience working in a similar role with a passion for mentoring
- Strong local knowledge and understanding of the local workforce need
- Display high level of cultural intelligence
- Ability to connect with others and support goal development and growth
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Well-developed time management skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and developing efficiencies in service delivery
